Why Should a Blogger Join Our Directory? A PR Agency’s Point of View

On the day that we launched, I was greeted on Twitter by Ali Grant, Director of Publicity of San Diego-based Be Social PR, a leading public relations agency specializing in social media marketing, event marketing, and digital publicity.

I am honored to have her guest blog today and respond to a question that I recently received on Facebook, “Why should a blogger join Geo Moms Connection’s directory?”

Here is her response:

PR agencies are looking to connect with bloggers to gain exposure for their clients!

Bloggers can review products, host giveaways, and essentially help to secure some buzz surrounding clients’ products and services. Bloggers are extremely influential because they have very loyal followers, and can act as a brand ambassador for promoting products and services.

While bloggers and brands are often trying to connect, it can be difficult to make the contact with the correct person – Geo Moms Connection can help to alleviate that issue. The database of bloggers by industry and location, as well as contact information will help PR agencies to easily connect with bloggers to help market their clients.

The database also helps give bloggers access to their favorite brands, and to help develop interesting and unique content for their readers.

Bottom line, we are excited to use the site and see it being beneficial for all parties involved!

Thank You to Our Volunteer State Social Media Coordinators

Since we launched last week, I put the word out that I am in need of volunteers to be State Social Media Coordinators.

So far, we have had ten bloggers step up and volunteer!

These are the moms that are “in the know” of what is going on in their local blogging community and are willing to grow their network in their home state.

Please help me in welcoming these moms who have volunteered and if you do not see your state represented yet, please fill out this form here!

Florida ~ Connie Roberts of Brain Foggles

The State Social Media Coordinator would initially be responsible for the following:

  • Recruit new bloggers to join the blogger directory
  • Be a potential liaison between bloggers and PR Companies when planning local events
  • Schedule and plan local meetups at their discretion
  • Submit local events to our Social Media Calendar
  • Submit local blogger communities to our Blogger Communities Directory

If you have any questions about our State Social Media Coordinators, please contact us.  We would be grateful that if you are a PR Representative or Brand and you do choose to contact one of our volunteers or bloggers for an opportunity, please contact us and let us know how we have been of benefit to you.

Welcome to GeoMoms Connection

Thank you for stopping by!  We are happy to have you here!

I created this site so that local bloggers in specific areas can be found by public relations firms and brands who are hosting local campaigns.

If you would like to be listed as an Influential Mom in your specific area, please join here.  Also, if you belong to a local mom bloggers community, please let us know so that we can help support you and share in your upcoming events.

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve and grow to make this site of benefit to the influential mom (and dads too) community, please don’t be afraid to share your ideas with me.

I have been asked, “What if I am not a mom or a dad but I blog and hey, I’m influential too, can I join?” Of course! All Influential Bloggers are invited to join us!

This site is a work in progress, so please bear with me.
